Dean's Corner:

It's hard to believe that this is my fifth year at the helm of the School of Engineering. One of the many highlights has been the opportunity to meet and interact with so many of our thoughtful, talented, and energetic alumni. As this year comes to a close, I want to thank all who've stayed involved with Tufts — a special thank you to those who could join us at the Museum of Modern Art to see our soft-bodied robot developed at Tufts' Advanced Technology Laboratory. For those alumni who've been away, we hope to welcome you back for our 152nd Commencement ceremonies.

In just one week, another school year ends and the futures of our talented graduates begin.

On Sunday, May 18, we will celebrate our students' achievements at the 2008 engineering commencement, with remarks by Tony Cortese, E'68, G'72, president of Second Nature, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the transformation of higher education in support of a sustainable future.

Our third annual Alumni Weekend Engineering Reception will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m. in Burden Lounge, Anderson Hall. Come experience a 3D demonstration of the new Center for Scientific Visualization's "VisWall." Please join us!

- Dean Linda M. Abriola
